1965 Sony VCK-2000 B&W vidicon camera
It's said that this is the first ever consumer video camera. Very basic, no electronic viewfinder. There is an optical "viewfinder" that flips out on the top (see photos) which is extremely simple, as you can see. On the back, there is the power input, an on/off switch, video output, and beam and focus adjustments. It uses a 1 inch vidicon tube, type 7262. It has the original carrying case, and all the original accessories except for the tripod, including the two microphones (see photo 5), Sony and Nivico (JVC).
When I bought it, the seller had tested it and it didn't work, so I knew I would have to repair something. I opened it up, turned it on, and the output displayed a static screen, but more importantly, the back of the tube was glowing purple!! I don't know the exact cause, but the tube will have to be replaced. I will give an update when I get it working.
