1979 Toshiba IK-1610 color video camera
This is a portable color camera for Toshiba portable Betamax VCRs. Possibly Toshiba's first color camera? 1 inch vidicon. It didn't come with a zoom lens when it was new, and you can see the non-zoom lens on it here. Here I have the electronic viewfinder mounted on it, but there is also an optical viewfinder seen in the photo. The electronic viewfinder has a cool and uncommon feature, it has a speaker in it, for listening to the audio while playing back video in the viewfinder! On the viewfinder side of the camera, there is a power switch, and strangely, on the OTHER SIDE are the color controls. Also on the other side, is a 1/8 inch mic jack, and a lens connector for...auto iris? I have two IK-1610s, and an issue with them is that, at least on the ones that I got, the IR filters had clouded up on both of them. I had to remove them, but I didn't have replacements to put in. This camera works well, but there is an issue where the color will flicker on and off, which also is happening on both of them, and I have yet to troubleshoot it.
