1982 Sony HVC-2400 portable consumer color camera
A very common consumer color camera. Being made by Sony, of course, it uses their patented Trinicon tube. The white balance controls on the side give you a lot of color control, and can get the white balance almost exact to real life. These cameras are a lot smaller than they look in photos, very compact and light for 1982! This camera was designed to be used with Sony portable Beta recorders, so it has the 14 pin (CCJ) camera connector. I was given this camera for free at the 2025 ETF convention, after no one bought it in the live auction. once the guy selling it (tapes1982 on youtube) heard my presentation, he gave it to me. I also bought two Toshiba IK-1850s from him there. Sony HVC-2000s, 2400s, etc, have always been all over eBay, and are not rare at all, so I never felt like spending my money on one. But, I will gladly take one for free! And, it works great!! The only problem is that the power zoom switch isn't doing anything to the motor, and I will try to troubleshot that sometime. Otherwise it makes a very nice picture, with the exception that the stripe filter is visible, like on most Trinicon cameras.
