1978 Victor/JVC GC-4400 two-tube color vidicon camera

The camera seen here is the "victor" version of the regular JVC GC-4400. Exact same electronics, just with black side covers instead of silver. Also, this is the version that was sold in Japan, as the manuals for it are in Japanese, and the power supply wall input is 100V(see photo 6). Unfortunately, It is missing the viewfinder. Otherwise, in mint condition, looks like it just came out of the factory an hour ago!!

The GC-4400 was made in the late 70s, and is the last two-tube color camera that was made. Also, this is the only two-tube camera that doesn't require a CCU, it is fully self contained. It was designed for industrial, or low budget ENG use. The mating VTR for the camera, was the JVC CR-4400 portable U-matic VTR, but you could also use it with a PV-4800 reel-reel EIAJ VTR. One tube is oriented horizontally, and one is oriented vertically and extends into the little bump on top at the front of the camera, where the two jacks are. I don't have the specs for this camera, (at least not in english) so I don't know which tube is the color tube and which is the luminance tube. Does anyone know?

It has a Minolta zoom lens with a manual/auto iris option. On the back, there is a WB meter, and manual WB controls, or two fixed WB settings. Then, there's a Y set knob, and a normal/high sensitivity switch, something that not many two-tube cameras offered. And last, the 12 pin EIAJ connector, and a mic and remote jack below. I didn't have the 10 pin to 12 pin cable to connect the camera to the power supply, and if I did, the power supply runs on 100V. So, I figured out the pin-out and applied power and ground to the right pins, and The camera works very well. Virtually no lag, and very accurate color.
